Wednesday, October 31, 2007 – Comfort

Some of the definitions for comfort, from www.dictionary.com, include:
1. to soothe, console, or reassure; bring cheer to
2. to make physically comfortable
3. to aid; support or encourage (this definition though obsolete today)
4. relief in affliction; consolation; solace
5. a feeling of relief or consolation
6. a cause or matter of relief or satisfaction
7. a state of ease and satisfaction of bodily wants, with freedom from pain and anxiety
8. something that promotes such a state
9. a comforter or a quilt
10. strengthening aid; assistance (this definition though obsolete today)

Wow.
The Bible says in John 14v15&16 that Jesus says that:

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments.

And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;”

And we know that Jesus did keep His Word, and that another Comforter is here with us. Now Jesus had been our Comforter while He was on earth, and now there is another Comforter with us, even the Spirit of truth – the Holy Spirit. Looking at the dictionary meaning of the word comfort, which is what a comforter does, is just astounding, because it articulates what the Comforter does for us.

So are you need of someone to:
- soothe you?
- Console you?
- Reassure you?
- Cheer you up?
- make you feel physically comfortable?
- Aid you?
- Support you?
- Encourage you?
- Bring you relief in affliction?
- In whom you can find solace i.e. peace and rest?
- Satisfy your bodily wants and free you from pain and anxiety?
- Strengthen you?
- Bring you to these above states?

The good news is that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit is here with us, to bring us comfort. Won’t you ask Him?

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—“ John 14:16 (Amplified Bible)

Tuesday, October 30, 2007 – Our love list

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. This morning, I was reading a book and it prompted the reader to think of someone who loved them, and on a piece of paper, write the things that the person does to show that they love you. This person could be a parent, a sibling, a friend … My list contained such things as they call me, they want me to look good, they give up the life that they could have so that I could eat e.t.c. Jesus says in John 14v15:

“If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” (KJV)
“If you [really] love Me, you will (obey) My commands.” (Amplified Bible)
“If you love Me, obey My commandments.” (New Living Translation)

If Jesus were to write a list of things that you do to show that you love Him, what would His list look like? If you were to write one for Jesus, about how He shows that He loves you, what would your list like? Hmm…

Have a blessed day.

Verses for thought:
“I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.

I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?” Songs of Solomon 5v3&4

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today. A day which You have made, which we can rejoice and be glad in. We thank You for Your presence daily with us and for Your lovingkindness. We thank You for loving us first, we thank You Jesus for dying on the cross of calvary for us, we thank You Holy Spirit of God for Your daily care of us. Father, we pray that You let our love – for You and for others – abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, that we may approve that which is excellent, that we may be sincere and without offence, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Christ Jesus to the glory and praise of God in Jesus name. Lord God, let us love You so much that it will be evident to You and to all those around us, in Jesus name, amen. Lord of the Harvest, we do pray, that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Monday, 29th of October, 2007 – AMEN

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Isn’t it a delight to serve the Living God – the One who reveals secret things and the One who is always in control? The One who never has a bad day and the One from whom nothing is hidden – yes, even your heart!

Jesus re-iterates in John 14v14 that:

“If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it.”

Have a blessed day.

Father, we thank You for all the priviledges that You give to us. May we never misuse them in Jesus name, amen. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Saturday, October 27, 2007 – From John 14v12

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.” John 14v12

Who me? Yes you. Jesus is talking to us all – as many as believe on Him. Really, one might ask – I will actually heal the sick, raise the dead, let the lame walk, the blind see … all that Jesus did, and greater than that. Oh wow! Some asked Jesus along these lines saying:

“Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.” John 6v28&29

Believing in Jesus, also means you believes what He tells you. Now, why was it expedient that Jesus go to the Father? And here we see an introduction the Holy Spirit, the Third Person in the Trinity, whom Jesus said He will ask the Father to send to us. The Holy Spirit gives us power from above. But you have to be Jesus’ to have the Holy Spirit of God. And here we see in Acts 1v8 where Jesus says:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1v8

Hallelujah.

Have a blessed day.

--
Our dearest Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. We praise You, we exalt You, we lift You up high, we thank You, for all that You are doing, all that You have done and all that You are yet to do. We thank You for Your goodness and for Your lovingkindness. We thank You for Your presence in our lives and for Your gift of love, of salvation. We thank You for sending Jesus to die for us on the cross of Calvary, He being delivered for our offences, and raised again for our justification. Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross of Calvary for us, we thank You for You were wounded for our transgressions, You were bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon You and by Your stripes, we are healed. We thank You so much for the Holy Spirit of truth who is here with us, to guide us into all truth, for He does not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He hears, that does He speak, and He shall shew us things to come. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, it is such an awesome priviledge to be a part of the great and wonderful family of the Almighty God. Father Lord we pray that You draw more men unto You and use us to spread the savour of the knowledge of You in all the face of the earth, even now and ever more, in Jesus name we pray, amen.

Friday, October 26, 2007 – Believe Him

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Wonderful weather here in Boston, MA, we bless God. How are things on your end?

Alright, Jesus felt the need and the urge to re-iterate to His disciples that He was in the Father, and that He was sent by the Father, and He was only doing that which the Father wanted Him to do. He felt the need to urge them to believe this, and told them in John 14v11, that even if they did not believe Him, they should for the very works sake, believe Him.

Why did He feel this urge, this need to re-iterate these things, and what does it signify for us living in this day and age? Perhaps it is that important because it is the basis of our entire hope, for how else do we preach the gospel and talk of our Lord and Saviour whose blood cleansed us from our sins and whose coming and death meant eternal life for us. How else do we tell those who say that there are many ways to God that Jesus is the only way? How else do we stand firm in knowing that the Father hears and answers us when we pray in Jesus’ name? In essence, even today, these re-iterations and assurances are very important for us, even as we preach the gospel and stand firm to tell others that – this man Jesus, said it over and over and over again that He was from the Father (I mean, look at the works He did), that He was in the Father (and the Father in Him), and He was going back to His Father’s house (where He had gone to prepare a place for us, that where He is, there we could also be.)

HALLELUJAH!!!

“Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very works’ sake.” John 14v11

Have a very blessed day.

--
And so Heavenly Father we thank You once again for sending Jesus to die for us on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus we appreciate and welcome Your Lordship in our lives and over all our affairs – re-iterating that our lives are not ours but Yours and that You have Your way in our lives O Lord. Saying Holy Spirit that we love You and submit to Your counsel this day and evermore, in Jesus mighty name we pray. Again Lord we pray for all those that do not know You, Lord of the Harvest, please send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous but the labourers are few. We pray all these with deep and total appreciation, in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Thursday, October 25, 2007 – Abiding in Him

“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say of My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).” John 14v10

Reminds me of the song which says – I and My Father are one, You are the love of my life…

Also brings to mind how we bear fruit in Jesus Christ and without Him, we are nothing, as seen in John 15v5:

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.”

And Philippians 1v11 which says:

“Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”

How close are you to the Source? How bonded are you being with Him? Remember Jesus said to:

“And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.” John 8v29

Whose assignment, whose mission are you on? The One who sent you, or …

Have a very wonderful day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today, we bless You, we lift You up high, we magnify Your holy name. We thank You because You are worthy to be praised, worthy to be adored, worthy to be glorified. We thank You Jesus for being our Source, our Saviour and our Lord. Thank You for we bear much fruit even as we abide in You and You in us. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. Lord of the Harvest, we pray that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Lord and Saviour, Master and Friend, Lord have Your way in our lives even now and evermore, in Jesus mighty name we pray with thanksgiving. Amen.

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 – From John 14v8

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. We bless God for He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. John 14v8 says:

“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”

For some reason, the idea of having the Bible with us now, came to mind, and as though, the question is being posed to us that, you have had the Bible with you for such a long time, and you do not know the Word, which is God (John 1). Again, to top things up, the personifying of the name – Philip, could be any one of us, as though God knows us by name, but do we know Him. A food for thought.

Have a blessed day.

Verses for thought:
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1v21

“My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:” Proverbs 3v1

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You and appreciate You so much for this day that You have made, that we can rejoice and be glad in. We thank You for Your lovingkindness, for Your goodness and for Your Spirit with us. We thank You for revealing Yourself to us and for shedding Your love in our hearts through Your Holy Spirit who is dwelling with us and is in us. We thank You for today O God, thanking You for being our guide, our strength and our shield. Lord we pray that today You surprise us and that Your song of praise does not depart from our lips. We worship and exalt You and thank You for Your Word which You have given to us. Lord of the harvest, we pray that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous but the labourers are few. Have Your way O Lord in our lives and let Your name be glorified. We pray and ask all these things in Jesus mighty name, amen.

Tuesday, October 23, 2007 – Holiness

Hello everyone,
How are you? I hope you are doing well on this lovely Tues – day! Under the heading “the universal desire of all true believers,” is verse 8 from John 14 which says:

“Philip saith unto Him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.” John 14v8

Now, most of us want to see God thinking such things as if only He were right here, beside me, telling me what to do, what to say, how to say it, comforting me … The Bible says God is an ever present help in trouble, amen. An even greater revelation is that God is right here with us, in the person of God the Holy Spirit. But do we know that the Bible says:

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” Matthew 5v8

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” Hebrews 12v14

How is your heart? What are you following after? But the way, and where He is, you know….

Have a blessed day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
How are You this day? We hope great. We thank You for today, this day that You have made, that we can rejoice, and do rejoice in. We bless You for Your goodness, for Your faithfulness, for Your lovingkindness, and say today O Lord, we desire to see You. We want to spend eternity with You. Help us O Lord to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling and hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end. Blessed be Your holy name O God. Lord of the Harvest, we pray, that You draw men to You, those who do not know You and pray that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus name we pray, amen. May we not be found wanting upon Your coming in Jesus name, amen.

Monday, 22nd of October 2007 – The Perfect Ambassador

Monday, 22nd of October 2007 – The Perfect Ambassador

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? Hope well. The joy of the Lord is your strength in Jesus name. In speaking of our Heavenly Father, Jesus said:

“If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him.” John 14v7

Jesus was in a sense, the perfect Ambassador – representing the exact views and values of His kingdom, and the One who sent Him - uncompromisingly. Along the same vein, there are situations whereby someone reminds you so much of another person based on their looks, their mannerisms, the way they speak, gesture, the tone of their voice e.t.c. Just like Jesus told His disciples, if you had known Me, ye should have known My Father also …

“For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.” John 12v49&50

Would you also consider yourself a perfect ambassador of the Kingdom?

Have a blessed day.

Sunday, October 21, 2007 – The Way

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Things are fine over on this end – and hope you had a very wonderful Sunday. Jesus said, no one can come to the Father except through Him. We see this in John 14v6 which says:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

But He has given us the assurance that He has gone to prepare a place in His Father’s house for us. So don’t doubt that. But sometimes when we try to tell people about Jesus, we may be challenged that oh, but we are all serving the same God and we can get to God through other ways. Hmm.

“He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3v18&19

Have a blessed day.

Saturday, October 20, 2007 – In Doubt?

Hello everyone,
How are doing on this day? I hope well. On top of the verse John 14v5, the Dake’s Bible wrote “Life’s great question.” John 14v5 says:

“Thomas saith unto Him, Lord, we know not whither Thou goest; and how can we know the way?”

Thomas uttered this phrase, after Jesus had told the disciples in verse 4 that – “And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”

Thomas is here practically taking Jesus back to the basics in that Lord, where are You going – I don’t know, talkless of knowing the way to get there. The question also signifies a fact of Lord, I do not even know You. For if one really knew a person, you would know the person’s house, some information about the person’s background – perhaps their family name or where there family resides e.t.c. But Thomas is saying, Lord, we do not know where Thou goest, although Jesus had in verse 1 mentioned that He was going to His Father’s house where there were many mansions, and was there going to prepare a place for them.

Ever feel like you are asking the most basic question when the Word of God says something? For example, the Word of God might tell you, Be still and know that I am God… and You are asking, hmm, why would You want me to be still? Or, what are You able to help me with? Perhaps You do not realize that He is the Prince of peace, and He is the One that even the winds and the waves obey. May God reveal Himself to us in a mighty mighty way in Jesus name, amen.

--
Verses for thought:
“For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Romans 1 v 20&21

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today, we thank You for Your lovingkindness and Your tendermercies. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we thank You for who we are in You. We glorify You O Lord God Almighty, we praise You for Your mighty acts to the children of God, we re-affirm our love for You and say we are thankful to You. We pray O Lord that we do not look back after we have put our hands to the plough, in Jesus name, amen. Lord of the harvest, we pray that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus mighty name we pray with thanksgiving, amen.

Friday, October 19, 2007 – Ye know

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Today, it’s a bit rainy in Boston, Massachusetts, but we thank God for the rain. Now, we see in John 14v4, where Jesus tells His disciples:

“And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”

Hallelujah. We know where Jesus is at this point in time, and we know the way to get there. Are you looking to that way?

Have a very blessed day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today, we thank You so much for Your lovingkindness, for Your faithfulness, for Your goodness, for everything. We thank You so much again for sending Jesus to die on the cross of Calvary for us. We are truly grateful. We thank You for being our rock, our shield, our strong tower, our refuge, the love of our lives, our everything. Blessed be Your holy name O God. Father, we just give our all to You today, saying Lord, have Your way in all that we do, and let Your name be glorified. We love You Lord and pray that we do not take You for granted in anyway. We pray again merciful Lord, that You send forth labourers into the harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Thank You Father Lord, thank You Jesus, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus mighty name we pray with thanksgiving, amen.

Thursday, 18th of October, 2007 – What A Promise!!!

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14v3 (KJV)

“And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14v3 (Amplified Bible)

Have you ever been expecting something that you know will surely surely happen, but perhaps not too sure when e.g. a package, or a holiday, or a visit from relatives, or to relatives. One way or the other, if it is a good expectation, it keeps you longing, and desiring and looking forward to.

The other day, I was asked the question why do bad things happen to people who go to church. The response I gave was, do you see them say because of this, we won’t believe in God anymore. No, no, no. Because we have a hope, an expectation – this life is not all there is. So keep on keeping on for He is coming to take you to Himself, and you will give an account of all that you have done in your body – whether good or bad. Hmm.

Have a very blessed day.

--
Verses for thought:
“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” Hebrews 11v13

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5v10

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We bless Your holy name, we praise You, we adore You, we give You all the praise and all the glory, all adoration and honour, for You are awesome. Your works are wonders and we love to tell of them. We thank You for Your working in our life, we thank You for the day we would be taken to be with Jesus, we bless You and say You are worthy to be praised even now and evermore. Lord of the Harvest, we pray that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Lord God, we pray unto You that is able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of Your glory with exceeding joy, we pray to the only wise God our saviour, and pray that all glory and majesty, dominion and power, be unto You, both now and ever, in Jesus name, amen. Father Lord, please keep us from falling and present us faultless before the presence of Your glory with exceeding joy, in Jesus name, amen. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. All these we pray in Jesus mighty and exalted name, amen.

Monday, 15th of October, 2007 – He can furnish a table in the wilderness.

Hello everybody,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well. We bless God because He is a God of impossibilities. He laughs in the face of difficulties, and the amazing thing is that He is our God. To whom can we liken Him – none. Can you imagine you being 20 and somebody asking you a question along the lines of can you add 2+2 together, it could almost be seen as an insult. Such was God's annoyance at the Israelites, when they provoked Him all that time in the wilderness, asking such questions like, can God furnish a table in the wilderness. And this was after He had parted the Red Sea for them. Now, there are times when we also do the same, in that in face of all that He has done for us, we still ask questions and fret and get anxious and dismayed. It is written as for the Israelites, that:

“Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
"Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in His salvation.” Psalm 78v21&a22

May this not be our portion in Jesus name, amen and may we not be found without faith, in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for thought:
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5v23&24

Have a blessed day

Sunday, October 14th, 2007 - Hold fast, press on

Have you ever played a game of tug-of-war? You have two teams, trying to get the other one to come over and cross a line which is fixed, usually on the floor (smile). The team that gets the other team to cross the line, or perhaps fall down, wins. Now, sometimes during the game, it may not be strange to feel your hands slipping from the rope - but you have to keep holding on, and not giving up.

So it is with our Christian walk. We have a hope, we have a Father who loves us, a Saviour interceding for us, who also happens to be our Great High Priest (amongst many things), a Comforter who is right here with us showing us the way to go, and a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on. Let's face it, there are many, oh so many that are rooting for you to win this race, and you cannot afford to go back, not now, because He who is coming will come and will not tarry - and real soon too. You may have stumbled and let go of the rope, but still, the Bible tells us that: "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief." Proverbs 24v16

So rise up, and hold fast and press on - with His help, you can do it!!!

Have a blessed day.

--
"But Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end." Hebrews 3v6

"For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" Hebrews 3v14

--
Our dearest heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today, we thank You for Your goodness, we thank You for Your faithfulness, we praise You for Your love. We adore You for who You are and all that You have been and are and are still going to be to us. We thank You for the hope and the confidence that we have in You. We thank You and praise You because You are the Living God and great is Thy faithfulness. Your stedfast love reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the sky. Oh that we may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the depth, and lenght and breadth and height and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. How great You are. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. Merciful Father, we pray for the grace, the strenght and the endurance to run with joy, the race that has been set in front of us. Eternal Rock of Ages, Everlasting Father, we pray for the grace, the strength and the endurance to hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end, that we may be Christ's house. Finally Lord we pray, for the grace, the strength and the endurance, to hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end, that we may be made partakers of Christ. We thank You for Your strength which is made perfect in weakness, for Your joy which is our strength, for Your love which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit indwelling in us and is with us, which endures all things, and for Your grace which is sufficient for us. Abba Father we praise You, Lord Jesus we adore You, Holy Spirit we extol You, praying O Lord of the harvest that You please send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. We thank You Lord even for all these things and for answered prayers, even as we have prayed according to Your will, in Jesus name, amen.

Saturday, October 13, 2007 - The Lord our Restorer

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? Hope well. Sometimes we lose something that we love very dearly, something that perhaps others will never be able to comprehend how we feel. It could be a loved one, a gift, a functioning e.t.c. But the Lord is our restorer. Remember how God the Almighty restored to Job. We see too more clearly in Genesis 4v25, when Eve praises God using the name of a child that she had:

"And Adam's wife again became pregnant, and she bore a son and called his name Seth. For God, she said, has appointed for me another child instead of Abel, for Cain slew him." (Amplified Bible)

Have a blessed day.
--
"Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Who was faithful to Him that appointed Him, as also Moses was faithful in all His house." Hebrews 3v1&2

--
And may the good Lord restore unto you all that you have lost in Jesus name, amen.

Wednesday, 10th of October, 2007 - Take the first step

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Here is just an encouragement that:

"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 7v12

And may God grant us the grace to take the 1st step, in Jesus name, amen.

Friday, October 12, 2007 - The expressions of our heart

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. So there are often times that we are in discussion with people, but perhaps, not really. Why? Because we want our own turn to come and to speak what we want to speak, to say what we think is right and what they just have to hear from us. Proverbs 18v2, warns us to be careful about this, saying:

"A fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own heart." (NKJV)

Remembering that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. The fool says in his heart that, there is no God. Are you listening to what God is saying, or are you only interested in expressing your own heart, your own will, your own emotions, your own mind? It is well, have a blessed day.

"For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law." James 2v9-10

Our dear Father in Heaven,
Creator of Heaven and earth and all that therein is, the One true God, the One that is, the One that was, the One that is to come, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, Omnipotent Lord, blessed be Your holy name forevermore. We bless You, we lift You up high, we adore You. We thank You for being a wonder working God, we thank You so much for Your faithfulness, we love You Lord, we adore You, we appreciate You, we thank You, You are amazing, the things You do O Lord, are wonders. Thank You for Your surprises day by day, we thank You for the things that You keep us from, we thank You for answered prayers, saying, blessed be Your holy name O God. Eternal Rock of Ages, we thank You for everything and we ask today Lord that in anyway we have been seeking to only express what is in our hearts, and not seeking to understand, we say we are sorry Lord, please forgive us for our sins in Jesus name. We pray O Lord for the grace to always seek to understand, to seek wisdom, to seek You, daily. Blessed be Your holy name O Lord. Abba Father, Lord of the harvest, we again pray that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thursday, October 12, 2007 - And so He leads us

Hello everybody,

How are doing on this day? I hope well. Ever have days when you are wondering, where am I going to start from, or what shall I do first, or in what order should I get things done? Well, God has promised in His Word to lead and direct us. All we have to do is ask. He cares even about the minute things or seemingly minute things like when to take a shower, when to get our hair done, when to start a project ... all the things which seem little, but eventually add up to your 24 hour day. We see these promises in such verses as:

Psalm 32v8:
"I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you." (Amplified Bible)

Isaiah 48v17
"Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." (KJV)

And so He leads us, bearing in mind that all our prayers to Him for Him to lead us, and direct our paths and let His will be done are actually being answered daily, even when we do not see the immediate results for them - only be willing to listen and you will hear Him speak.

Have a very great day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today, we thank You for Your goodness and Your faithfulness, and Your deep and intense love for us. We love You Lord and appreciate You even for such a time as this, such a day as this that we may get to know You more. Dear Lord we pray, that in any way we have sinned against You, knowingly or unknowingly, in our words, or thoughts or deeds, please forgive us for all our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness in Jesus name. Merciful Lord, we also pray that in any way You have been leading and directing us and we have not heeded to Your voice or Your Word, please forgive us. We pray, that in anyway we may be going along the wrong path, that You set us back aright, and let us hear Your instructions again, granting us the grace to heed to it. Again we pray Oh Lord of the Harvest, that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. We ask all these things in Jesus mighty and exalted name with thanksgiving, amen.

Tuesday, 9th of October, 2007 - Spread the Word

"Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest." Matthew 9v37&38

This is a prayer that one of my pastors said to always pray. And how true it is. Indeed, Jesus uttered these words to His disciples, being moved with compassion, after seeing the multitudes, as they fainted and were scattered abroad. They seemed to Jesus as sheep having no shepherd. And then He told them to pray this prayer. And how true it is today - people are still in need of healing from various sickness, different disease and in need of hearing the good news, - the gospel of the kingdom. Are you ready to be a labourer in the harvest of the Lord of the harvest?

Have a very blessed day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for this day which You have made that we could rejoice and be glad in and still can. We bless You for all that You are doing in our lives, each day showing us Your mercy and Your grace. How great Thou art. Lord God Almighty, we know that You want that none perish, but that all come to repentance. Father Lord and Lord of the harvest, we therefore pray as Jesus said to, that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Lord God Almighty, please send us and grant us the grace to go, neither complaining nor grumbling, but giving You all the glory. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. In Jesus mighty and exalted name we pray, amen.

Monday, October 8, 2007 - Astound Him

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. I am good and just soon to be off and about for the day. Now, reading in Matthew chapter 8 this morning, came across this verse:

"When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." Matthew 8v10

The situation at hand, had to do with the Centurion, whose servant was sick and he had come to Jesus to tell Him about it. Jesus replied, I will come and heal him, but the Centurion would not allow Him to, telling Jesus I am not worthy for You to come to my home. But speak the Word and my servant will be healed. The centurion said this, drawing from his own experience as a leader, that when I speak a word, it is done.

And Jesus marvelled. What can we do to astound our Master? Jesus had not seen such great faith like that, no, not in all of Israel. You might say, but the centurion drew from His own experience. Then perhaps, there is something you do - a profession, a talent, an experience you have been through that you can draw on to astound the Master. Go ahead astound Him. It could be to tell Him that in Your profession, you have seen people who can do this and that, but You know, that He surpasses them all. It could be a painting that You see, and from that tell Him how wonderfully proud of Him that He could come up with so many colours. So go ahead, astound Him and may the Holy Spirit grant you wisdom and insight to see what you can do today and always to marvel our Lord.

Remain blessed.

Sunday, October 7, 2007 - Three secrets from Matthew 7

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? Hope well. Happy Sunday. In Matthew 6, we see three things which Jesus said to be done in secret. These are in terms of giving of alms, praying and then fasting. Almost as though to question oneself as to whom you are doing these things - to men, to gain their approval, or unto the Most High God, our Father in Heaven who seeth in secret.

Matthew 6v4 says:
"That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret Himself shall reward thee openly."

Again Matthew 6v6 says:
"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seest in secret shall reward thee openly."

And finally Matthew 6v18 says:
"That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly."

Have a blessed day.

--
Our dearest Father in Heaven,
We thank You so much for this day which You have made, that we can rejoice and be glad in. We thank You for all that You do and are doing and are yet to do. We bless You for who You are and with praise and thanksgiving, come before Your throne of grace today. We thank You because You see in secret when we give alms, when we pray, when we fast. Lord God Almighty, may our motives in doing these things always be pure, as unto You and not unto any man in the name of Jesus. May all that we do in prayer, in fasting and in giving of alms glorify Your name and Your name alone. Father Lord You are worthy of all praise, and all glory and all honour and we ascribe all to You this day. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God. Lord of the harvest, we pray again that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Lord God Almighty, please have Your way in our lives and let Your will be done in our lives, even now and evermore, in Jesus mighty name we pray with thanksgiving, amen.

Saturday, October 06, 2007 – And we know He answers

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? Hope well. One of the amazing things about God is that He answers prayers. He always hears, and He answers, even as we pray according to His will which He has made known to us, through His Word. He does not forget things we pray to Him about, even when we do. So remain blessed and praying and God bless you real good.

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us:

And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” 1 John 5v14&15 (KJV)

“And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.” 1 John 4v14&15 (Amplified Bible)

--
And Father we just bless You for this confidence that we have in You. Thank You for always hearing and always answering our prayers even as we ask according to Your will. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Friday, 5th of October, 2007 – His Counsel

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Let us imagine a scenario, where you are the leader of a group of people. They look to you for decisions, to lead them, to guide them, possibly for food, clothing, where to live, e.t.c. Imagine, you had led them to go and help an army to fight (let’s say the Philistines), but these people, doubtful of your integrity, reject your offer to help. So you and your people decide to go back home, and you get home and find that in your absence, great great destruction had happened – town is burned with fire, and family taken captive. Oh no. This was the situation David was in.

“So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.

Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.”

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” 1 Samuel 30v3-6 (KJV)

One thing that has stuck with me through time, is just the phrase – encouraged himself in the LORD. For us, there may be times when we are in situations where the whole world around you, seems against you. You may all be in the same boat, or the same situation, but then the added blame is put on you perhaps as the leader or someone who is looked up to. But encourage yourself in the Lord your God. Now, the people here did not consider the fact that David had also lost his own family. Nope. They were grieved, distressed and for that point in time, David was the culprit.

It could be in your place of work, in church or your local fellowship, among a group of friends and you just feel you are under attack just a little bit more compared to those surrounding you – encourage yourself in the Lord. He is faithful and He will fight for you to bring that situation under control.

Be encouraged and have a blessed day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today. We thank You for Your goodness, for Your faithfulness, we bless You because You are an unchanging Changer. You are our Father, our Father who loves us and Daddy, we encourage ourselves in You this day – trusting in Your awesome power, trusting and keeping ourselves in Your love for us. Thanking You because You never fail us, no not at all, and You never forsake us, no, never ever. How great You are. You have never lost a battle. You are great and mighty. You know our uprisings and our downsittings, You understand our thoughts afar off. How great Thou art. We lift You up high, high, high. You are an awesome wonder. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore. Thank You for bringing the situation under control. Hallelujah. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit of God, in Jesus mighty name we pray with thanksgiving, amen. Again we pray O Lord of the Harvest, that You send forth labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. We ask all these things in Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Thursday, 4th of October 2007 – On Instruction

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. The Word of God tells us that wisdom is the principal thing and that we should get it. Sometimes, going through the book of Proverbs, I wonder what the words of wisdom were (smile). But now I have begun to see them. One of such is on instruction. The Bible says in Proverbs 4v13 that we should:

“Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.” (King James Version)

“Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to life.” (New Living Translation)

“Take firm hold of instruction, do not let her go; guard her, for she is your life.” (Amplified Bible)

The Bible reminds us to:

“HEAR, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding;” Proverbs 4v1

Heed to your father’s instructions … and heed to God the Father’s instructions too. We see in Hebrews 12v5&6:

“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him:

For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth.”

Have a very wonderful day.

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today. We thank You for Your goodness, for who You are to us. For being Someone who is kind and understanding and whom we can pour out our hearts before. We thank You because You know us even more than we know ourselves and You care for us immensely. We thank You for Your Word which You have given to us. We bless and appreciate You for everything our Lord and our God. Blessed be Your holy name forevermore. Father we thank You for instruction, for guidance, for counsel, from those who love You who You have put around us – our fathers, our family. We thank You most especially for Your counsel and advice and chastisement. We appreciate You o Lord. Father have Your way in our lives and let all that we do in word and thought and deed always always give glory to Your holy name. Father, for as many as do not know You, we pray that You draw them to You and let Your name be glorified. Thank You Father, thank You Son, thank You Holy Spirit, in Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 – On the will of God

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Here in Boston, MN, seems like fall is slowly coming in, but it is well. Hmmm, the will of God is something very very very important – God, what do You want done in this situation or that. Jesus said He did the will of His Father in heaven. We see certain verses in the New Testament along these lines:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12v2

“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” Colossians 1v9

“Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself:” Ephesians 1v9

--
Our dearest Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much for today. We thank You for Your lovingkindness, for Your goodness, for the hope we have in You, and for the strength to face each day. We love You and appreciate You dear Lord. We bless You Jesus and we adore You Holy Spirit of God. Father, whilst we pray often that Your will be done in our lives, today Lord, we want to thank You for having made known unto us the mystery of Your will. We pray Lord that we be not conformed to this world, but that we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We pray too and desire that we might be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Lord of the harvest, Abba Father, we pray too that You send forth Your labourers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the labourers are few. We thank You Father, we thank You Jesus, we thank You Holy Spirit of God, for hearing us and answering us, even as we have prayed according to Your will, in Jesus name, amen.

Tuesday, October 2, 2007 – Who He is

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. A word to think about as we go about our day today:

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” 1 Corinthians 1v25 (NKJV)

Have a blessed day.

--
And Father we bless You because Your foolishness is wiser than men, and Your weakness is stronger than men. How great Thou art.

Monday, October 1st, 2007 – Pleasing Him

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this wonderful Nigeria’s independence day? Yup, its already October 1, 2007 – it was not too long ago that people were doing New Year resolutions. One of the prayers that quite struck me over these past few days, is one from Colossians 1v10, where Paul is praying for believers in the church in Colosse, and he prays …

“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

Isn’t it wonderful if the Lord is saying of us all the time that ah, this My daughter, or this My son, is just pleasing Me all the time, that the way he or she walks, is indeed worthy of the child of the Most High. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were fruitful in every good work i.e. not that we are just doing good works, but we are also fruitful in them? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we just keep increasing in the knowledge of God –

And so today, even as Paul prayed o so long ago, we also pray that Father, may we walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, to the glory of God, in Jesus name, amen.

- May we make this a daily prayer.
